Practice with Marcia at Yoga South.
This practice works you from head to toe focusing on the energy which grounds us to our source. With the focus on Apana (grounding energy) the practice challenges you to raise Apana to meet Prana to tap deeper into your true nature, your roots, in order to spread your wings and fly. The practice begins with Yin postures (unless paired with a Yin practice) and moves into a deeper, more rich but slower vinyasa with the emphasis on arm balances, hip openers and backbends. This is a journey to the inner spirit which will invigorate every yogi and allow you to dance and play at your edge while staying lighthearted and childlike.
Yin Yoga contains the ancient, and some say original, form of asana practice. Yin Yoga focuses on opening and releasing the connective tissues in the body. These are the deep yin tissues of the body, relative to the more superficial yang tissues of muscles and skin. Postures are held 3 - 5 minutes.
Unleash the creative spirit with in. This invigorating very active practice will focus on heart opening postures, pranayama techniques and upbeat music to stimulate shakti, creative, feminine energy that moves us on our mats and throughout our lives.
Bring a journal, an open mind and willingness to let yourself grow off your mat with this workshop. This workshop coupled with Shakti vinaysa is an amazing experiment in unleashing the inner artist. Learn to play with drawing, writing and asana outside of the yoga room to maintain creative energy in every aspect of your life. Think outside the box.
This class is designed to get rid of the cobwebs from the innermost corners of the body, mind and spirit. A challenging series of pranayama, kriyas, twisting, and folding in a heated room (80-85 degrees) will allow you to surrender, let go and be in the present moment. This Deep Stretch journey will leave you feeling revitalized from head to toe.
Marcia uses the creative and unique nature of her own studies to pull together a systematic approach to sequencing classes. Always a innovating workshop as we examine the different ways with which the body can open and close, lift and lower, twist and turn to make the asana experience challenging but accessible to all levels in classes.
